Every year, the major shipping carriers increase their shipping rates. As a result of these pricing changes by the carriers, ShipBob directly adjusts our fulfillment fees accordingly. This year, we are planning to pass through carrier rate increases in two segments due to the staggered dates in which they go into effect.

  • Domestic rate increases from FedEx and UPS will go into effect on January 6, 2020.
  • Rate increases for USPS, DHL, UPS Mail Innovations, and international rates from all carriers, will go into effect on January 26, 2020.

ShipBob will NOT increase the Delivery and Extended Area Surcharge that UPS and FedEx have increased. This refers to the number of zip codes where delivery and extended area surcharges are applied. To keep pricing as simple as possible, ShipBob will continue to not pass along these costs to you like in past years.

Note: All of these rates are a direct passthrough and are only for UPS and FedEx non-international rates. We currently only have percent increases, which you can manually calculate. Once we have the actual rates from UPS and FedEx in mid-December, we will send you another email with links to your updated pricing plan.

We will then implement the second and final round of rate increases for USPS (including shipments under 1 lb. using UPS Mail Innovations, which utilizes USPS for final mile delivery), DHL, and international rates for all carriers, all of which will go into effect on January 26, 2020. We will send a separate email for those rates as well.
