In an effort to increase efficiency and handle capacity, we are scaling our fulfillment centers throughout the network and expanding into new locations to provide additional services. 

 

Next Monday, we are transferring inventory from Grapevine, TX to our new center in Carrollton, TX (roughly 10 miles away), starting on March 9th through April 15th. While Grapevine is still operational, no new WROs to Grapevine will be accepted starting April 1st. One of the benefits of the new facility in Carrollton is temperature-control capabilities. 

FAQs

How will my inventory be moved? 

All inventory will be counted and scanned before being prepared for the move from Grapevine to Carrollton. We will have a complete chain of custody during the entire process of moving the inventory and move inventory in stages. 

Once the inventory arrives at the Carrollton fulfillment center, we will also stage, count, and scan all inventory. At any point, we will be able to tell if the inventory is in the Grapevine fulfillment center, in transit, or in the Carrollton fulfillment center. 

What is the timeline for inventory to be moved? 

  • March 5th - Please create all new WROs for Carrollton. 
  • April 1st - No new WROs to Grapevine will be accepted.
  • Until April 30th -  All current WRO enroute to Grapevine will be transferred upon arrival up to Carrollton.

Will there be any fulfillment delays because of the move?

We anticipate up to 1 business day of downtime in which orders will not be fulfilled. ShipBob’s Merchant Care and Merchant Success teams will work with you to let you know right away if we anticipate any delays for the day, and cover the costs to upgrade shipping if we're going to miss our SLAs. 

As always, ShipBob’s proprietary software will drive expectations at each phase of the fulfillment process to ensure your orders are fulfilled consistently and with the same expectations as they were in Grapevine.

When can I start sending inventory to Carrollton?

You can start sending inventory to Carrollton on March 5th. Carrollton is already fulfilling orders. Please keep in mind the same 5 business day SLA for new WRO receiving.

When will the Grapevine fulfillment center stop shipping orders?

April 30th is the last day we will fulfill orders from the Grapevine for the planned move.

How will this new location affect shipping zones and transit times?  

It will not have any impact on shipping zones and transit time.

What happens if you move my existing inventory from Grapevine to Carrollton, but my new or replenished inventory arrives in Grapevine after that?

We will move your new or replenished inventory to Carrollton shortly after it arrives in Grapevine for all existing WROs up until the end of April. All new WROs should be created and sent to Carrollton. Please contact the ShipBob Merchant Care team if you have a conflict with the April 30th deadline.

If for any reason the order is forced to be split and is shipped partially from Grapevine and partially from Carrollton, ShipBob will also cover the incremental cost. 

If new inventory doesn’t arrive in Grapevine by April 30th, 2020, the merchant will be responsible for the cost to reroute it to Carrollton.
