How to Send Inventory to the ShipBob Fulfillment Centers
Thank you for choosing ShipBob!. We are super excited to have you on-board. Sending us your inventory is one of the most critical steps of starting your partnership with ShipBob. This article aims to give you step by step instructions on how to send inventory to one of our many fulfillment locations.
Before you send inventory to the Shipbob warehouse, you must create a warehouse receiving order (referred to as a WRO). This is visible under the Send Inventory tab on the left navigation. Sending us inventory is a simple 5 step process.
*Note: if you need to schedule delivery of inventory, please note that our delivery hours are Monday through Friday, 11 am to 4 pm. If you need to confirm with a member of our team, please call 844-744-4726 ext 2 and leave a voicemail if you are not able to reach a representative immediately as we will call you back soon!
Let's get started!
Step 1. Select the city.
Choose the fulfillment center where you are sending the inventory to! If you are unsure of which center to choose, ask your account executive!
Choose the fulfillment center where you want to send us the inventory.
Step 2. What is being sent?
On this step, you can either import an Excel to give us information about the items or simply select the items you will be sending us from the drop-down along with their quantity.
Step 3. How are you sending us the inventory?
In this step, you have to make some decisions on how you will send us the inventory:
- Choosing a shipping method — If the packages are going to come to us using carriers like USPS or UPS, choose Small Parcel. If they are coming to be on a pallet or on a truck, choose Less than Truckload.
2. How are the products going to be sent to us — If you chose the small parcel above, you have an option for generating shipping labels through our dashboard. This way you can simply drop the boxes at the UPS or USPS post office. If you want to generate shipping labels on your own directly through the carrier website, you can do that as well. If you selected LTL, there is no shipping label required.
3. How are the boxes packaged — This provides us information on how the boxes are packaged. You can choose between three different options :
a. Everything in one box: This one is simple. It means all the items you entered in Step 2, will be in only one box. However since this one box contains multiple items , remember to separate out the different SKUs by bagging them separately , or labelling the items so our team can correctly identify them and prevent any confusion. (Video is below with Step 4)
b. One SKU per box: In this option, each box contains only one type of item inside. So, for example if you are sending us 50 of Item A and 50 of Item B , and each box contains only Item A or only Item B , select this option and in Step 4 simply tell us how many total boxes you will be sending us. (Video is below with Step 4)
c. Multiple SKU per box: By selecting this option, each box can have different items inside. If you select this option, we just ask you the total number of boxes in the WRO and in Step 5, you can provide us information for what is contained inside each box. (Video is below with Step 4)
Step 4: Whats inside each box
Based on how you answered Step 3, this screen could give you several different options:
Everything in one box: If you choose this, it means you are only sending us one box and the one box contains everything. Simply hit next and move to Step 5!
Step 4 for Everything in one Box!
One SKU per box : If you choose this in Step 3, you would need to tell us how many of that SKU are in each box. This will help us calculate the total number of boxes we can expect as part of the WRO.
One SKU per box — Tell us the quantity in each box and we can calculate the number of boxes!
Multiple SKU per box: This means each box could contain a combination of different items inside it. Based on the total number of boxes being sent in the WRO, simply tell us the quantity of the different SKU’s in each box. Right now we only allow a maximum of 10 boxes per WRO if you select this option . You can create another WRO if you are sending us more than 10 boxes!
Step 5: Download Labels
You are almost there. This is the last and most important step where you can download all the box labels. These box labels need to be attached on the outside of each box. This makes it easy for our team to identify each box and know what is contained inside each box. This will help us receive your inventory faster without errors to get you start shipping your orders on time.
Congratulations! You are now ready to send your inventory to Shipbob. If at any point you want to save and come back later, use the Finish Later to finish it at a later point!
