How to check an order's status
Any order imported or created in the ShipBob dashboard will have a status of one of the following: Processing/ On-Hold/ Exception/ Completed
Your outstanding orders ready to be fulfilled.
A "Processing" status means that the inventory needed for that particular order is in stock and the order will receive tracking by the end of the same business day (***Note: Orders will receive same-day tracking if imported into the dashboard pre-12pm local time. Orders entered after the 12pm cutoff will receive tracking the next business day). The order will remain in Processing while it is fulfilled (picked, packed, labeled) and all Processing orders that have been fulfilled and received tracking will move to completed after midnight.
Orders not ready to ship.
Orders in the dashboard that are not ready to ship can be placed On-Hold. Orders can be placed On-Hold before they are picked by a member of the team.
To place an order On-Hold:
1. Go to Orders > Processing
2. Check the box next to the order ID and select "move orders to On-Hold" from the red actions tab on the upper right of the dashboard
3. Click the "On-Hold" tab. If the move was successful, you will see the order here.
These orders will remain unfulfilled until moved back to Processing. With On-Hold orders, you have the option to reserve inventory or unreserve inventory for the order. To edit the items in an on-hold order, you will first need to move it back to Processing.
To move an order back to Processing:
1. Go to Orders > On-Hold
2. Check the box next to the order ID and select "move order to pending" from the red actions tab on the upper right of the dashboard).
***Note: Orders are also placed On-Hold by our labeling team when they are unable to ship due to an address error. To move them back into Processing for the team to ship, simply re-enter and save the address details (even if nothing is changed). The order will move back to Processing automatically.
Orders not able to ship.
Exception Orders are orders that ShipBob is not able to currently fulfill, usually due to a lack of inventory on-hand. There are several reasons an order may be put into Exceptions.
***Note: When an order is initially created or copied, it will temporarily move to Exceptions first while inventory is assigned to it. After about 30 seconds you can refresh the page and the order will have moved to Processing.
Your shipped orders.
Orders will move to Completed after midnight of the day they are fulfilled. All completed orders will have tracking information available in the order details.
