We’re writing to provide an update on the impact to orders being shipped to Canada using ShipBob’s Standard shipping options, including DHL eCommerce, UPS Mail Innovations, and Asendia.
Negotiations have been ongoing between Canada Post and its largest union, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW). Unfortunately, they have not yet reached an agreement, resulting in rotating strikes and service disruptions expected into January 2019. Canada Post is no longer accepting postal volume. While the United States Postal Service (USPS) continues to accept and process packages destined to Canada, as of Thursday, November 15, 2018, they are no longer tendering to the Canada Post. USPS will retain the packages at their facilities (as their capacity allows) and tender to the Canada Post once the strike ends.
Our delivery partners are taking precautionary measures to minimize the impact to services by rerouting packages to alternate delivery partners in Canada, but delays of three or more days are expected.
ShipBob will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
We strongly recommend leveraging expedited shipping options, with end-to-end delivery by our partners directly (thereby avoiding Cananda Post altogether), for orders that are sensitive to the delays due to the strikes with Canada Post.
You can edit individual orders’ ship options by selecting Expedited or DHL Express, as in this guide, or change your ship option mapping universally as in this guide.

Thank you,
The ShipBob Team
