At ShipBob, our goal is to provide your business with the best fulfillment services possible. Based on customer feedback, we’re changing the way we charge for receiving inventory at our fulfillment centers.
The following fee changes will go into effect beginning April 19:
1. We’re reducing receiving fees by nearly 30% — from $35 to $25. This applies to inventory with a complete Warehouse Receiving Order (WRO) that takes less than two hours to receive.
We want to thank (and reward!) merchants who have adopted the WRO process so efficiently and proactively — this has allowed us to gain efficiencies across the fulfillment process, and we’re incredibly appreciative of that.
Note: A $35/hour fee will still apply after the first 2 hours of receiving.
2. We’re going to begin charging for On-Hold Receiving/Unidentified Receiving Orders (UROs) in the following ways:
- URO initiation fee: $25 dollars when a URO enters the system
- Daily URO fee: $25 dollars for each day a URO remains unresolved. The daily fee will be calculated from 12:01 a.m. local time each day. For UROs entered into the system before April 19, you will be charged for each day after April 19 that the URO remains unresolved.
If charged, the URO fees will appear on your additional fees invoice.
Why are we charging for UROs?
At ShipBob, our goal is to have your inventory received and ready for fulfillment as quickly as possible so that your orders can be fulfilled on time.
When shipments arrive at our fulfillment locations without a complete Warehouse Receiving Order (WRO), we are unable to receive your inventory accurately and it is moved to On Hold Receiving as an Unidentified Receiving Order (URO).
Unidentified inventory takes up valuable space in our fulfillment centers and slows down the receiving process for all of our customers. This can prevent us from getting your orders out as quickly as possible, which can in turn lead to a poor experience for your customers.
Reducing the amount of unidentified inventory in our fulfillment centers will allow us to provide the best service possible to you and your customers.
How do I resolve a URO?
For us to start receiving your inventory, you will need to resolve the URO by creating a WRO and associating it with the URO ID. See this Help Center article for step-by-step instructions and videos on creating a WRO.
When a URO is resolved, the WRO goes to the end of the receiving queue and, based on our standard receiving timeline, will take up to 5 days from resolution to be received. The longer you wait to resolve the URO, the longer it will take for your inventory to be ready to ship.
You can learn more about the process of resolving a URO here.
How can I avoid URO fees?
When sending inventory to our fulfillment centers, make sure to be proactive about creating complete WROs by following the steps outlined here. If you ship inventory directly from your manufacturer to our fulfillment center, you must still create a WRO in the dashboard.
If you have any questions about the fee changes outlined above or the receiving process as a whole, please reach out to our Merchant Care team at email@example.com. We’re here as a resource to make sure we can receive your inventory and fulfill your customer orders as efficiently as possible.
