2-Day Express Limitations

Due to carrier limitations, the following cannot be delivered within 2 business days from when the order is fulfilled.

  • Out of stock items

  • Dangerous goods

In order to use our 2-Day Express ship option, you will need to acknowledge these limitations in the dashboard.

2-Day Tracking and Fulfillment

To provide you with visibility into the on-time delivery rates, we’ve built a status dashboard to give a high-level overview of weekly insights into carrier performance and shipping statuses. Please note ShipBob’s fulfillment cut-off times when monitoring 2-day carrier performance outlined below:

  • If an order is received before noon local time of the FC, then an order will be considered on time if there is an attempted delivery within 2 business days.

  • If an order is received after noon local time of the FC, the order will be fulfilled by the next day and delivered within 2 business days after the order is fulfilled.

  • On time delivery rates across all carriers including 2-day can be tracked and monitored using this helpful ShipBob Status page that is updated weekly.

During this time, ShipBob does not provide any guarantees or credits for delayed shipments. ShipBob aims to deliver all orders on-time and is continuously monitoring and improving our program.

Frequently Asked Questions

ShipBob 2 Day Express Setup

Q: Can I turn ShipBob 2-day Express off at any point?

A: Yes. Merchants can change their shipping option or deactivate at any time. Instructions here.

Q: How do I test that I've enabled ShipBob 2-Day Express shipping option correctly?

A: We recommend creating a test order to ensure you've correctly enabled. Instructions here.

CartBob and ShipBob 2 Day Express

Q: If I have CartBob enabled, does this change anything?

A: No change and no action required from merchants. The only thing that updates for current merchants who use CartBob is that they now have 100% coverage. Leaving CartBob on will help merchants exclude HI, AK, Puerto Rico, military addresses, and PO Boxes.

Q: What if I already have enabled 2-Day Express?

A: No action is required if you already have 2-Day Express enabled. You can check if you’ve already enabled 2-Day Express in the ship option mapping section under Account Settings in the dashboard.

Inventory Distribution

Q: How does distributed inventory and new ShipBob 2 Day Express work together?

A: Distributed inventory is no longer a requirement for 2-day eligibility but still highly recommended for lower shipping costs. Merchants can store inventory in a single location or across multiple FCs - we provide 100% coverage across the lower 48 regardless. That said, distributing your inventory can reduce the zones traveled for 2-day orders, which may reduce costs.

Limitations

Q: Will ShipBob 2 Day Express work if I manually upload orders? (Aren’t using any store platforms?)

A: Not currently, but our Product team is working on a future release to enable 2-day for manual upload orders.

Q: How do I setup my store mapping to exclude military addresses and P.O. boxes?

A: If you are unable to configure your ecommerce store shipping option to exclude military addresses or P.O. boxes, we recommend that you include language during checkout stating that the 2 day shipping option does not ship to military addresses or P.O. boxes.

Pricing

Q: How much is it?

A: You can find 2-Day pricing within the dashboard on the pricing page by selecting “ShipBob 2-Day Express” from the shipping option drop down.

SLAs

A: ShipBob aims to continuously monitor transit and on-time delivery rates to better improve our 2-Day Express program. ShipBob does not provide any guarantees or credits for delayed shipments at this time, but you can view the % delivered on time here.

Q: Are weekends counted?

A: No, carriers only pick up from ShipBob on Monday through Friday (business days) at this time.
