What is CartBob?

CartBob is ShipBob's Real-Time Rate App for Shopify. During checkout, CartBob sends your customer's cart information, and it returns the appropriate shipping cost. Carriers can calculate shipping rates based on actual costs, so you can pass that cost along directly to the consumer for both international and domestic addresses.

What are the steps for adding rules to CartBob?

For CartBob rules set up, contact your MSM or Merchant Care at support@shipbob.com.


What rules can I set-up for CartBob?

Rules with the following validations will now be supported by CartBob:

If Cart Value is

This compares a number value $ - great for promotional free shipping rules

If Cart Weight Oz

This compares a weight of the cart in Oz

If Destination State/Province

This checks the state/province of the customer

If Destination Country

This checks the country of the customer

Always True condition

This condition is always true and the actions will always occur for every cart.

For the conditions above, you can take the following actions:

Change Title

This changes the title of the shipping rate (This can be applied to specific ShipOptions)

Change Description

This changes the description of the shipping rate (This can be applied to specific ShipOptions)

Set a Flat shipping rate ( e.g. $5.00)

Set a Flat shipping rate (This can be applied to specific ShipOptions)

Markup Shipping Price by Percent

(This can be applied to specific ShipOptions)

Markup Shipping Price by Currency Amount

(This can be applied to specific ShipOptions)

Hide Shipping Method

For example, If 2 Day and Expedited are displayed then hide Expedited.

Hide Multiple Shipping Methods

For example, if both 2 Day and Expedited are displayed then hide both.

Based on these comparisons:

Example Rule:

If Cart Value [Condition] is Greater Than [Comparer] $100 [value] then Set a Flat Shipping Rate [Action] of $0 [value of Action].

In this example, if the Cart Value exceeds $100, a Flat Shipping Rate of $0 will be displayed instead of CartBob computing a real-time rate and showing that to your shoppers.
